This series was a test to see if we could create engagement by adding “video call-outs” into our books. Each chapter had a QR code that took the reader to a landing page with a video expanding on the topic covered in that chapter.

Gospel of John (2018)

A 12-session Video Study for Rose Publishing (as a division of Hendrickson Publishers). It explores many of the important topics in the gospel of John covered by noted Bible scholars. I was the producer. director, and video editor for the series. It was the first project shot in 4K, with the final product going to physical DVDs and streaming.

Lucky Deluxe Fabrics (2021)

Lucky Deluxe Fabrics is a fabric thrift store that helps creatives find one-of-a-kind items that are difficult to find. They were looking to create an online presence for their business that was launched when COVID-19 wiped out the theater costuming industry.

I helped them get their first site off the ground using the Shopify platform and helped them create an email database.

Beacon Light Mission (2022)

Beacon Light Mission, which helps the homeless in the South Bay region of the Los Angeles area, was looking to upgrade their existing website. They asked me to revamp the site, integrate an online giving page into their site, as well as document the testimonies of some of the people who have had their lives transformed by their ministry.

The site was built off of WordPress and the Classy online giving platform.

Hope for Your Heart (2013-2015)

The Hope for Your Heart website was an experiment to see if we could merge an eCommerce site and an internet community to expand the audience for the popular Hope for the Heart counseling series by author June Hunt. Excerpts from the books were converted into posts/articles and shared via social media. The readers were encouraged to read other articles and purchase the book if they wanted to read more.

The blog or article portion of the site was built off of WordPress and the eCommerce portion was built in Magento. The UI framework was built with Bootstrap. The site has yet to really take off, but it was a learning experience trying out Magento and Bootstrap.

Dubland (2002 – 2016)

Back in 2002 I had the grand idea moving all my design and artwork off Apple iTools and making a website with the hope of attracting freelance work. Back then you were cool if you had a Flash website so I taught myself Flash to make a ‘cool’ website. As you’ll see the site quickly evolved as the overall web technology matured with Web 2.0 and now the responsive design trends.

How We Got The Bible (2015)

This video study was created for churches or Bible studies to purchase and learn how the Bible as we know it came to be. It comprised of six 30-minute video sessions. All of my video work with Rose Publishing involved securing filming locations and coordinating the video production, post-production crews, and the video product itself with the editorial team and all printed material they were producing.

This project stands out from the other Rose video projects because I felt like I had the most ownership of this project. My biggest achievement with this production was that I managed to vastly improve the production quality while matching the same low-budget that the preceding Rose videos had.

Christian History Made Easy (2012)

One of my more memorable and largest projects I have done. We shot 12 30-minute sessions in a grueling one-week shoot. The post-production time also had its challenges as well. Not only did we have the raw footage of the 12 sessions to edit down but we also did 10 Monty-Pythonesque animations to illustrate some of the more interesting and humorous stories in the lessons which added to the production time. On top of all that we also had a hard drive fail two weeks before our deadline.

All the challenges aside it was also one of the more rewarding projects since I got to embrace my love of history with this particular project.
